The Candy Dish - Emblem of Hospitality - Red Honeycomb Fingerprint Glass

A home is often remembered by visitors young and old because of this simple piece of dishware.  A symbol of welcome and hospitality - the candy dish - offers treats from peppermints to butterscotch to chocolate candies.  It offers a hint of the owner's tastes both in decoration and pleasure. The red candy dish in the photograph is a fingerprint pattern on glass and is owned by a family member.

This silver-framed photograph celebrates a wedding from many years ago.  To me a photograph reaches memento or artifact status when it is time to pass it on to the next generation.  In this spirit, I pass along this photograph of a very beautiful wedding to the younger members of my family.
